Ideal Concierge Physician Demographic
The ideal demographics for Concierge care will have some or all of the following characteristics:
  • Primary care physician or physician who treats patients on a regular or chronic basis;
  • Must be independent practice or have the ability to opt out of any contract without incurring significant penalty;
  • Practitioner who is dissatisfied with the current quality of life (including work hours, income and desire to regain control of the practice)
  • Should be treating middle to upper income patients, at least 20% of whom have enough disposable income to afford the $120/mo retainer;
  • Doctor has been practicing for approximately 10 years and has developed core group of loyal patients;
  • Practitioner looking towards retirement and wants to develop an exit strategy;
  • Forward thinking doctor who is willing to re-organize his/her practice in exchange for ability to provide better quality of medical care;
  • Physician with high overhead, large malpractice premium, or concern about being sued for malpractice;
  • Would be beneficial if doctor is part of a larger partnership (no more than 10 doctors) with an increased patient pool from which to draw concierge patients. This will also allow the patients who opt out of the concierge practice to remain within the practice and treat with a conventional physician
